Make Safe First
The urgent job after a storm is stopping the damage getting worse, not making it look nice. That means tarping where water is still getting in, propping or removing what is unstable, clearing debris away from paths and doors, and getting a leaning fence run either straightened or laid down safely. We prioritise make-safe calls ahead of routine bookings during storm season, because a day of delay is often the difference between a ceiling repair and a ceiling replacement. Fences, Pergolas & Outdoor Timber
Fences and shade structures take the brunt of it every time. We reset and replace posts, re-fix or replace palings and rails, straighten gates that have dropped, and repair or rebuild damaged pergolas and patio structures. New hardware goes in stainless or hot-dip galvanised, because a coastal repair fixed with bargain fixings is a repair you buy twice. Shared boundary fences come with a written quote you can show the neighbours before anyone commits.
Gutters, Water & Ceilings
A lot of storm damage is really water damage that arrived through a blocked or broken gutter. We re-fix and replace guttering and downpipes, clear the debris a storm packs into them, and repair the plaster, cornice and paintwork inside when water has already been through — see plasterboard and wall repairs for that side of it. Where the roof structure itself needs work, that is licensed territory in Queensland and we bring in a licensed roofer rather than take it on.
